Air Duct Cleaning San Diego

Air Duct Cleaning San Diego

Studies have shown that indoor air can be two to five times MORE polluted than outside air. This pollution comes from a variety of sources. Dirt, dust, pollen, mold spores, animal dander and other contaminants are tracked into your carpeting and collects on your furniture. Furniture and carpeting are typically cleaned on a regular basis. But, the air ducts are hidden from view and can only be reached by specialized duct cleaning equipment. So, air ducts get dirty, and dirty air ducts are a breeding ground for a variety of health threats such as dander, dust, pollen, mold and mildew. So what do you do? Call The Global Carpet & Air Duct Cleaning at (619) 366-6218.

The Global Carpet & Air Duct Cleaning will clean your air ducts. In fact, we'll clean and sanitize your entire heating, ventillating, and air conditioning (HVAC) system, because air duct cleaning involves much more than just cleaning air ducts. Don't let anyone tell you anything differently. In order to effectively improve air quality and keep problems away, the entire system of heating and cooling system components of forced air systems, including the supply and return air ducts and registers, grilles and diffusers, heat exchangers heating and cooling coils, condensate drain pans (drip pans), fan motor and fan housing and the air handling unit housing must be cleaned. And, we'll do it.

Our team of trained professionals are certified by the National Air Duct Cleaning Association (NADCA). Research by the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) has demonstrated that cleaning heating and cooling system components (e.g., cooling coils, fans and heat exchangers) may improve the efficiency of your system, resulting in a longer operating life, as well as some energy and maintenance cost savings. This is why it is so vitally important to maintain a clean HVAC system, particularly for buildings with occupants that are small children, elderly, asthma and allergy sufferers and people with respiratory ailments. Better indoor air quality equal better health conditions for building occupants, which equals fewer sick days for workers and more comfortable living conditions for families in single family homes, mobile homes, modular homes and condominiums as well as tenants in apartment complexes and other housing.

Different manufacturers have different recommendations on how often air ducts should be professionally cleaned. Use your manufacturer's guidelines on the frequency you should have your air ducts clean, but also consider these factors that may also warrant more frequent cleaning:

  • Smokers in the household.
  • Pets that shed high amounts of hair and dander.
  • Water contamination or damage to the home or HVAC system.
  • Residents with allergies or asthma who might benefit from a reduction in the amount of indoor air pollutants in the HVAC system.
  • Recent home renovations or remodeling that may have dirtied your air ducts.

Also, if you're about to move into a new home, even one that has recently been built, you should consider having the air ducts professionally cleaned. This way, you can rest assured that the indoor air quality will be maintained. Ways you can help maintain good indoor air quality between professional air duct cleanings include:

  • Regular vacuuming of your carpets, area rugs and upholstered furniture.
  • Have your carpeting and area rugs professionally cleaned on a regular basis.
  • Regularly dust and vacuum your window coverings (including drapes, blinds and window treatments), door trims and hard-to-reach ceiling fans. Use a vacuum cleaner equipped with a HEPA type filter, so you're not blowing dust back into the air that your HVAC system will end up recirculating through your home or office.
  • When dusting furniture surfaces, window coverings, door trims and ceiling fans, do not use a feather duster. Instead, use a Swiffer® or dryer sheets, because they don't scatter the dust into the air. Another option is to spray a little furniture polish on a clean rag, so the dust sticks rather than scattering.
  • Have your upholstery, window coverings and window treatments professionally cleaned on a regular basis.
  • Wash bedding in very hot water and use dust-mite-resistant covers on your mattresses.
  • Have your mattresses professionally cleaned on a regular basis.
  • Upgrade your furnace and air filters to pleated filters and change them frequently, so they don't become clogged and cause dirt, molds, dust and other contaminants to be recirculated through your home or office.
  • Do not block air vents or grills with furniture, computers or office equpiment.
  • Don't smoke indoors and don't allow others to smoke indoors.
  • Use a dehumidifier or air conditioner to help keep indoor moisture levels down to less than 50%, and clean them regularly.
  • Water and maintain office and house plants.
  • Store food properly and dispose of garbage promptly and properly.

The most important step you can take in improving your indoor air quality is to have your air ducts professionally cleaned. Call The Global Carpet & Air Conditioning every time you need to have your air ducts professionally cleaned.

Your fresh, clean air ducts and improved indoor air quality are only one call away.
