RV Interior Cleaning San Diego
Next to the tires, your RV's upholstery and carpeting are exposed to the most wear and tear. In addition to providing upholstery cleaning services for for San Diego homes and San Diego offices, The Global Carpet offers upholstery cleaning and restoration services and carpeet cleaning services for San Diego recreational vehicles (RVs), including complete interior restoration, Vinyl RV Awnings, RV Tile & Grout Cleaning, RV Grout Sealing, RV Grout Staining, and Cleaning of Headliners (vinyl, wool broadcloth, or foam backed). Because RV upholstery and carpeting are exposed to the elements and to moisture more than the furniture in your home or office, it's best to have tem professionally cleaned more often than carpeting in your home or office--at least once per year, maybe even twice per year--depending on how much usage your RV gets.
Like the furniture in your home or office, RV upholstery also needs to be regularly maintained between professional cleanings. Thorough vacuuming helps keep dust down, and cleaning up spills immediately after they happen are key to maintaining your upholstery and extending its useful life.
But, maintaining RV upholstery can get tricky, and you could end up ruining it instead of cleaning it if you're not careful. For example, you can't machine wash or dry clean removable RV cushions or you'll damage them. Dry cleaning damages the vinyl backing, and machine washing damages the fabric. So, what is the safe way to effectively clean removable RV seat cushions between professional cleanings?
Removable cushion covers should be hand-washed using a gentle cleaning agent, such as Woolite, then hung out to air dry. For non-removable covers, a spray-on upholstery cleaner will generally work. Spray the fabric with the upholstery cleaner. Allow it time to sit and soak into the cusion cover. Vacuum the remnants of the upholstery cleaner and let the cushion cover dry before using.
RV Carpet Cleaning
Similar to carpeting in a home or office, carpeting in RVs also need cleaned professionally on a regular basis and maintained between professionally cleanings. Vaccuming is the main way you'll need to keep your RV carpeting free of dirt and dust. Using the specialized hose attachments will help you remove dust and dirt from hard-to-reach places.
Spot-cleaning RV carpeting is the same as it is for the carpeting in your San Diego home or San Diego office. Clean spills up as soon as possible. Blot as much liquid up as you can with white paper towels or a clean white terrycloth towel. Then, gently rub in a soap and warm water mixture or a mixture of 50% water and 50% vinegar, working from the outside of the spot inward to keep it from spreading. Blot the spot dry with white paper towels or a clean white terrycloth. Or, use a shop vac to vacuum up the excess moisture. Baking soda and dry corn starch do a great job of deodorizing RV carpeting as it does with your home or office carpeting. To help keep dirt off your RV carpeting, place a mat inside the entrance door.
